The Opportunity
We are looking for an accomplished Finance Manager to join our Finance team as part of our financial services business in Hong Kong.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Hong Kong office opened its doors in 2006. The Finance Manager will service in our Finance department and will be responsible for the Finance function in our Hong Kong office.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Lead the finance function for the Hong Kong office and oversee financial reporting across Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UAE
- Manage, supervise, coach, and develop the local Finance team
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash flow reporting, and board materials for multiple legal entities
- Coordinate statutory and regulatory reporting, including local tax filings
- Oversee annual audits for both stand-alone entities and consolidated structures
- Manage financial transaction cycles and monitor client balances
- Partner with business stakeholders on finance matters, financial performance, and key performance indicators
- Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures
- Support the monitoring and application of global transfer-pricing policies
- Lead finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives
- Manage competing priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Provide additional support during busy reporting periods, including outside normal working hours where necessary
What You Bring
In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:
- Internationally recognised professional accounting qualification, such as HKICPA, CPA, or ACCA
- Minimum of 8 years’ post-qualification experience
- At least 5 years’ audit experience, preferably gained within a Big Four firm
- At least three years’ experience in a comparable managerial role
- Proven experience in managing finance processes, workflows, and the training and development of finance professionals
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and Hong Kong statutory, company law, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Familiarity with VAT and transfer-pricing models would be an advantage
- Strong organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to lead planned initiatives
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage deliverables independently
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- High levels of professional maturity, integrity, and sound judgement
- Ability to operate effectively in a regulated professional-services environment
